My Background

I can be found in my home studio most days pottering away after a twenty year career teaching Art and Design. Prior to that I worked in retail logistics before having my children and completing my Fine Art Degree. I remember a tutor on my degree course telling me that if I went into teaching I wouldn't have time to do my own work. He was right, but I don't regret the change in career. I retired as Head of Art from a successful 11-18 years independent school in the West Midlands having taught some amazing students, several of which I am still in touch with. I loved teaching but there was little time for all the other things I wanted to do and learn, so in 2022 I took the plunge to explore new horizons. It has been scary and liberating all at once and I would recommend it to you all! I now fill my time creating work that has been rattling around in my head for years, hosting life drawing sessions at my studio, and teaching adults and children how to develop their art practice. Life is good.
